Banjo Catfish

Banjo Catfish (Bunocephalus coracoideus) are unusual freshwater catfish known for their flattened, leaf-like appearance and excellent camouflage. These peaceful bottom-dwellers spend much of their time buried in the substrate or resting motionless, making them a fascinating addition to community aquariums. They thrive in soft substrates, subdued lighting, and tanks with plenty of hiding places.

Care Guide:

Size: Up to 6 inches

Temperature: 72–82 °F

pH: 6.0–7.5

Temperament: Peaceful; suitable for community aquariums with other non-aggressive fish. Best kept in aquariums with soft sand and plenty of cover.

Diet: Omnivorous - feed sinking pellets, wafers, frozen foods, and live foods such as bloodworms, blackworms, and brine shrimp. Most active and likely to feed during the evening hours.
