Sumatran Neon Kuhli Loach:

The Sumatran Neon Kuhli Loach, often identified as Pangio bitaimac, is a rare and distinctive relative of the classic kuhli loach. Native to Southeast Asia—particularly Sumatra—this slender, eel-like fish is known for its subtle iridescent sheen and gentle, bottom-dwelling behavior. Peaceful and highly social, it does best in groups and adds a unique, understated presence to planted aquariums

Care Guide: Sumatran Neon Kuhli Loach (Pangio bitaimac)

Size: Up to 2.5–3.5 inches (6–9 cm)

Temperature: 75–80 °F (24–27 °C)

pH: 6.0–7.0

Temperament: Very peaceful and shy; best kept in groups of 6 or more. Like other kuhli-type loaches, they are social and feel more secure in numbers, often hiding during the day and becoming more active in low light.

Diet: Omnivorous – accepts sinking pellets, flakes, and frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia. Naturally forages along the substrate for small food particles.
