Amano Shrimp are hardy, peaceful freshwater shrimp highly valued for their exceptional algae-eating abilities. Their translucent bodies with subtle dot and dash markings blend naturally into planted aquariums while they work relentlessly to keep surfaces clean. They are especially effective at controlling hair algae, diatoms, and leftover food.
Ideal for both beginner and experienced aquarists, Amano Shrimp thrive in stable, well-cycled aquariums and prefer to live in groups. While they will breed in captivity, their larvae require brackish water to survive, making full life cycle breeding uncommon in home aquariums.
