Bamboo Shrimp (Singapore Shrimp)

The Bamboo Shrimp is a unique freshwater shrimp known for its fan-like front legs, which it uses to filter tiny food particles from the water. Unlike typical “cleanup” shrimp, it does not graze surfaces but relies on flowing water to bring food to it. Peaceful and fascinating to watch, it thrives in well-established aquariums with strong current and suspended food.

pH: 6.0–7.5

Temperament: Semi-aggressive; males are territorial, especially during breeding. Best kept in a ratio of one male to multiple females with plenty of caves and hiding spaces.

 Diet: Carnivorous/omnivorous; thrives on high-quality micro pellets, frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia.
