The Japanese Trapdoor Snail is a hardy freshwater snail known for its unique operculum, or “trapdoor,” which it uses to seal its shell for protection. Peaceful and slow-moving, it thrives in planted and community aquariums, helping to clean detritus and algae while adding interesting natural behavior to the tank. These give live birth, similar to the blueberry snail!

Temperament: Peaceful and non-aggressive; compatible with all community fish and invertebrates.
Diet: Omnivorous - grazes on algae, biofilm, and detritus. Can be supplemented with blanched vegetables like zucchini or spinach and algae wafers as needed.
